Kenneth C. Runnels
Executive Vice President of Operations
Ken Runnels has served as Executive Vice President of Operations since December 2007. His current responsibilities include overseeing all of the Dry, Dedicated and Linehaul operations. Ken began his career with Swift Transportation in 1983 as a log auditor, and over the next few years was quickly promoted through various operations positions and was promoted to Terminal Manager in March of 1989. Since 1983 Ken has held a myriad of positions, including Terminal Manager at several locations, Regional Vice President, and Vice President of Fleet Operations. With the exception of a brief period from July 2006 to November 2007, Ken has spent his transportation career with Swift. Ken helped grow Swift from a 140 truck operation in 1983 to our current truck count of 18,000.
Steve Van Kirk
Executive Vice President, Swift Intermodal
Steve Van Kirk is currently the EVP of Swift Intermodal. Prior to joining Swift he served in various operation and management positions for Schneider National in the course of an 11-year tenure. During this time, Steve was appointed Sr. VP of Intermodal Commercial Management in 2007. Mr. Van Kirk began his logistics and transportation career in 1996 with Procter & Gamble where he spent 5 years and held a variety of management positions. Prior to joining Procter & Gamble, he served 12 years on active duty in the US Army as an infantry officer both in the US and overseas, and retired from the US Army Reserve in 2004.
Mr. Van Kirk holds a BS in Engineering from West Point, an MA in History from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is affiliated with the Intermodal Association of North America as well as the National Freight Transportation Association (NFTA).
Executive Vice President of Sales
Tim Guin began his Swift career in 1988. Since then, he has succeeded in several key customer-centric positions within our Company, including VP of National Accounts and VP of Eastern Region Sales. For a brief time away from Swift, Tim served as Vice President of Business Development in charge of Mergers and Acquisitions for USX Enterprises. He later became President of Arnold Transportation where he served until 2011. Outside of work, Tim serves as a board member of the University of Georgia TPS and assists on the Administrative Board of Mauldin United Methodist Church.
Tim earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Winthrop University. Residing in Greenville, South Carolina, he has been married for 28 years and has two daughters.
Executive Vice President of OperationsChad E. Killebrew has served as Executive Vice President of Operations since June 2016. His current responsibilities include: Dry Dedicated Operations, Swift Logistics, Business Intelligence and Transformation, Safety, the Owner Operator Division and IEL. Chad has been with Swift for 17 years. Recent roles include President of IEL, VP of the Owner Operator Division and Executive Vice President of Business Transformation. Additionally, Chad has held positions in administration, customer service, planning, and driver recruiting.Chad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Utah, an MBA from Westminster College and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Entrepreneurship and Strategy Program at the University of Utah.
